Interpreters Unlimited Selected To Provide County Of Sacramento With Telephone Interpreting Services

SAN DIEGO, CALIF., June 28, 2016—In an effort to improve communications that determine patient well-being, the County of Sacramento, California is implementing telephone interpreting services for its Health and Human Services department starting July 1. The County awarded Interpreters Unlimited, a San Diego-based interpretation and translation company, with a contract to provide interpreting services through June 30, 2017.

The contract, No. MA00034205, is for telephone interpretation services specific to each department. When implementation is complete, users will be able to call a custom toll free phone number to access an interpreter in their preferred language in minutes.

“It’s amazing what technological advances can now do for agencies who work to ensure California citizens are supported and protected. We are excited to expand our government services in Sacramento County,” said Sayed Ali, president of Interpreters Unlimited.

In order to compete for this contract, companies had to enter a bidding process, abide by HIPAA compliance standards, and verify the authenticity of the interpreters to be used during appointments.
