In 1970, Interpreters Unlimited was established with the mission to provide language services wherever language creates a barrier to effective communication. “Making Connections Nationwide” is not only a corporate slogan, it’s a foundation. In our business, communication is more than advertising pictures and catchy marketing phrases. Communication is the understanding and foundation of making a connection to bring diverse parties together. Indeed, it is these diverse relationships that are at the heart of our corporate spirit. Because the dialogue between an interpreter and person with limited English proficiency establishes a human connection, a sense of trust and safety with the client and business is nurtured.
Our sole purpose is to ensure the highest levels of professionalism, quality and accuracy. Our current linguists and drivers are qualified and come with years of exemplary experience to instill trust, safety and understanding to our clients.
In 2007, Interpreters Unlimited was acquired by our current President, Sayed Ali. Since that time, the IU team increased revenue by over 500% and expanded market reach to state and federal government entities, healthcare and medical facilities, insurance companies, legal firms, universities and school districts and corporations.
In 2008, Arkansas Spanish Interpreters and Translators (ASIT) was acquired. By September, 2014, IU acquired two Florida-based interpretation and transportation companies: Accessible Communication for the Deaf (ACD) and Albors & Alnet.
Today, the IU Group of companies: Interpreters Unlimited, ASIT, Albors & Alnet and ACD are headquartered in San Diego, California as a minority owned company. IU Group is committed to providing equal opportunity in the work environment. More than 90% of the IU Group staff is of a minority group and the team’s diverse background aid in supplying linguistic and cultural interpretation services to clients. A combined 70 years in the industry has demonstrated a surplus of leadership best practices, which has helped establish its respected role in the language services community.
